Unit 2-4 Outage Upgrades
Industry: Power & Energy
PROJECTS
Scope of Work
CCI partnered with our energy client to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and self-perform field services during the planned 2022 & 2023 outages. CCI was awarded multiple projects including Units 2-4 CTG exhaust baffle replacements, Unit 2 stack weld repairs, Unit 3 turbine manifold weld repairs, Unit 2 turning vein fabrication and replacement and Unit 1 turbine shell removal.
Serving as the prime contractor, CCI was responsible for the conceptual engineering, final engineering, detailing/fabrication, removal and installation of a complete baffle system as well as self-perform specialty welding & repair services. Based on CCI’s performance and success during the Unit 1 outage, CCI was able to secure the contract for the phase 2 construction. As an experienced construction and maintenance contractor, we possess industry knowledge and a quality control welding program that allows us to provide high quality construction & welding services for challenging conditions.
Due to schedule demands, the majority of the outages were performed working two shifts to reduce downtime for plant operations. On Unit 2, a forced outage occurred requesting from our client that our team pull ahead and expedite the upgrades two months earlier than the planned outage. Our team was able to answer the call and adapt to the situation by expediting fabrication and mobilization. The outage team completed the overhauls within the planned schedules with zero near incidents or rework.
